I've been taking a look at the new version 14. So far, every image I've seen of the organizer, appears that all the pictures are butted up against each other, rather than having a frame or space around it. This seems to me to have more of a sloppy and cluttered affect.
My main concern is, is it still possible to have the file name and information showing on the pictures? Is there a visible symbol showing what pictures are in a version set, or have been stacked. Are the tags and info still on the right side?

Hi craig, welcome to PSE&M!
What you are seeing is the Adaptive Grid, a new Organizer view Adobe introduced back in Elements 13. It allows you to see all your images edge to edge without the background around them and without the details such as the image's name and date. If you don't like this new view, you can still use the old grid view (which is called Detail view). To toggle between these two views, just press Ctrl-D (Cmmd-D on a Mac) or go to View>Details.
Yes, the Keyword/Info panel is still on the right side of the screen.

This Adaptive View seems to becoming popular but I can't figure out why. Is it only me who finds it hard to view pictures with this option turned on. The first time I saw this style was when a friend sent me some pictures via email. I made a comment back that I found it hard to view and he said no one else was complaining. Oh well!! My 2 cents.

I believe you can see only the top item in a version set or a stack when you are in the Adaptive Grid view.

Sue,
I didn't like the Adaptive Grid view at first but now I have got used to it. I find it handy when I just want to look at my photos (as a display). However, for my actual work, I switch to the Detail view.

I use both: There are times when you have to search visually by browsing thumbnails. The new view lets me see comfortably twice as many thumbnails of the same size. Either more files, or bigger ones. When file names or details are important, or for stacks/version sets, the usual Detail view is still there.

I guess I will try Adaptive again. It bothers me visually with all the pictures scrunched together. Just like there are some websites I don't visit because items aren't presented very orderly(Pinterest is one). Maybe I will get use to it.

Enjoy Elements 14!
