Hi all I am hoping someone can help. I cant get filter forge pro version 4 to launch from elements 13. It used to work a while ago. So I don't know what has changed. I'm on windows 8.1 . It will work as a stand alone app or from elements 12 and cc2015 but not from 13. I have tried re-installing filter forge but to no avail. I have also tried re-setting my preferences which did not work either. I have sent the bug report it generated to filter forge and hope for a reply, but thought i'd ask all you boffins here as well. There are two boxes which pop up when I try to launch which I'll try to include in this thread. I do have some plugins installed which I don't know if they will be at fault. Any ideas welcome

Hi Sepiana
I had a reply from Filter Forge and it now works. I'll paste the solution from my email into here for any others that have a similar problem.
Thanks for your help
Shaun
Email info below
Hi,
Please try the following:
1. Go to the Filter Forge folder in the Plugins folder of your PSE13. 2. Find the Filter Forge.config file. 3. Open the file. 4. In the IndependentUI line, if the value is false, change it manually to true. 5. Save the changes in the file and try running the Filter Forge plugin again -- this might help.
Best regards, Filter Forge Support support@filterforge.com

Hi All
This plugin also works in photoshop elements 14. Just copy the filter forge file from the plugin file in elements 13 to elements 14 plugin file. I don't think filter forge version 4 naturally supports elements 14 yet as it didn't pick it up when I reinstalled.
The file paths below on my windows 8.1 laptop
C:\Program Files\Adobe\adobe photoshop elements 13\Photoshop Elements 13\Plug-Ins Copy the filters folder
C:\Program Files\Adobe\adobe photoshop elements 14\Photoshop Elements 14\Plug-Ins Paste filters folder into the plugins folder listed above
Hope this helps someone

Shaun I am not sure this is really a matter of Filter Forge 4 vs Elements 14. I have Elements 14 installed on two computers. The Filter Forge installer had no problems finding this version and proceeding with the installation of this plug-in.
Thanks for posting these instructions! I will just add this information for the benefit of those who may have skipped Elements 13 and are upgrading from an earlier version to Elements 14.
Starting with version 13 (Windows), Elements is now a 64-bit program. This means that you cannot just copy/paste the Filter Forge files from Elements versions earlier than version 13 into version 14. It won't work. If you are in this situation, you will need to run the installer again. The installer is designed to install both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version of this plug-in. It will detect if you have a 32- or 64-bit version of Elements and will install this plug-in accordingly.
