I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to judge all of the wonderful gallery images submitted this week for IOW consideration. There were so many beautiful images which I delighted in perusing over and over again. Believe me, it was not easy to narrow them down to just a few that I wanted to highlight, but with that said l present my list of honourable mentions, runners up and the ultimate IOW award.
Honourable Mention:
kathylee – The Textures of Fall A terrific blend of images which has been woven to create a wonderful autumn tapestry. Very nicely done.
Honourable Mention:
tpgettys – The Sackbutt Players I really like the rendering of this image and the way Tom has eschewed detail to give an interesting painterly look to the image.
3rd Place:
jjr1770 (Judy) – The Church at Heritage Canyon I love the simplicity of this image with the quaint small church set amidst the gorgeous autumn colours. I can almost feel the cool and refreshing fall weather in this one.
2nd Place:
jackscrap – Luna Park I am a big fan of fun park imagery and loved Jackie’s processing of this one with, what I thought was the perfect balance of colour, saturation and vibrancy. For me it totally encapsulates what a fun park experience should be. Brilliantly done!
1st Place:
preeb – Fenced Out Everything worked so well for me in this image from the choice to use monochrome, to the composition, to the texture, to the title. I liked how my eyes naturally followed the fence into the picture. Outstanding!

Kudos to all this week’s winners – you should all be very proud of yourselves! And a big shout out to everyone who submitted an entry to the gallery this week as each submission goes a long way to contributing to the ongoing success of our forum. So, thank you all! And on that note I will take my leave and say a final thank you to Helen for allowing me to be this week’s IOW judge – I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
