For reasons unknown to me I was able to order 2 copies at $35.95 off each from Costco. That is $44 off original price.

Wow, next time I will take you with me. I got it for $39.99 which I thought was a good buy. Now I just have to figure it out, it is so different than #10 which I am now using, Think I bought myself some work, but I could not resist!!!!

My son just ordered for me from Amazon Prime.
First upgrade since 11 - looking forward to seeing some new features. He said it was $40. However, it's on back order.
I wanted the boxed version with both Mac and Windows discs because I do not know which way I'm going when I replace my Mac.

Janice, you will notice a big difference, particularly in the much faster performance. The extra features that have been added along the way will prove good experience. Now, I seem to remember there was something dropped after v11 which some people missed and I remember it was possible to find it in v11 and copy it into the more recent versions. I can't remember what the feature was but, hopefully, someone will remember and post so then you can decide if you want to keep it. On the other hand, I don't know if it works on the 64-bit versions. I suspect Sepiana may know what I'm talking about Anyway, enjoy the new version

One of the features that was dropped was the lighting effects filter. As I recall it could be copied between versions, but not into the 64-bit versions.

Among them were the Lighting Effects filter, Color Variations, and the Magic Extractor. Both the Lighting Effects filter and Color Variations can be placed back in Elements 12 provided you are using Windows because this version is 32-bit when installed on this OS. However, this is no longer possible in Elements 13 and Elements 14 because these are 64-bit applications.

Adobe suggests you use Auto Smart Tone as an alternative to Color Variations and the Quick Selection tool with Refine Edge as an alternative to the Magic Extractor. (In Elements 11 Adobe introduced a new, updated Refine Edge brought over from Photoshop.)

Thanks for all that information, Sepiana. I knew you would be able to explain it all.
So, it's not of much use now, with the versions 13 and 14 being 64-bit.
Anyway, thanks very much for clarifying that, Sepiana

First take on the new version(coming from 11): gray background is lighter, looks like larger? or better fonts, in organizer, as you move the slider down the pictures displays what folder you are in.

Starting with version 13, Adobe designed Elements so that it will display properly on ultra-high resolution screens (such as Apple's Retina Display and its equivalent on Windows). So, if you have one of these screens, everything should be sharply focused and with menus which are big enough to read easily.

Hi, it's very tempting offer from Custco, but I am from Europe; do you know if it is possible for an EU-Citizen to get it for the price? First, I do not know what Custco is (and this whole member fee thing?). Second, I do not really need the discs, only the valid and legal serial number. Do they sell discs or licences only? Regards, Maciej
