Hello again...It doesn't matter which of these I choose to click on....Save As.. is the only one that appears. Something amiss in my preference settings? Also does Pse not send your image directly back into Lightroom with pse edits done? Or is this wishful thinking.....

To the first question, I'm not sure why "Save" is not visible. I'm sure one of our other members can answer this.
If you don't use the Save As setting and use Save, then LR will be see the edits you made in PSE. If you do Save As, it won't.

It doesn't matter which of these I choose to click on....Save As.. is the only one that appears. I would need more information to fully understand what you are experiencing. I can say that if you create a file using New, then there will be no Save option because it needs a name to save it as. Save means save using the existing name; Save As allows you to choose a name for the file. Does that explain your situation, or is there something else going on? |

It doesn't matter which of these I choose to click on....Save As.. is the only one that appears I may be on the wrong track here but . . . are you bringing your image from Lightroom into Elements as a 16-bit file? If this is the case, I believe the "Save" option will be grayed out. |

Thank-you all for the help...So I've adjusted my Lightroom preferences based on what I found on my PET magazine subscription (May-June 2013 pg 30 )..I have it sending images from Lightroom to Elements in 8 bit..The "SAVE" is not greyed out. I've also brought Raw files directly into Elements ..applied adjustments to them, and when I click on SAVE the SAVE AS dialogue box still opens....It really isn't a huge deal breaker I'm just wondering more than anything why I'm not seeing anything happening from the SAVE tab.

PSE wants to create a copy of the file, since it assumes you are working on the original. However, LR already created the copy for you. So when PSE prompts you to save the file, keep the original name of the file and save it. PSE will ask you if you want to overwrite the existing file - just say yes. |

After a few days of researching and posting I have resolved my issue of getting images from Lightroom to PSE12 and back into Lightroom...The issue with the clicking "Save" and only having the "Save As" dialogue box popping up has me and others still stumped...

After almost a week of searching a solution has been found....In my PSE preferences under "Saving files" I had to change my "File saving options" from "Ask if original" to "Save over current file"...PSE now sends my image with "save" directly back to Lightroom. Thank you everyone for your help.
