I'm new to this forum and already asking for help. Up until about a year ago my folders in Elements 11 were arranged in alphabetical order. Then,all of a sudden, all new folders started being arranged by date. The previous folders were still arranged alphabetically. I also have Elements 9 on this computer and the folders there are arranged alphabetically. Am sure I clicked something that made this happen but I haven't been able to find and correct it. Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to Photoshop Elements & More Chuck; I'm really glad you found us!
I am not at all sure this is your issue, but when I click Import in the Organizer to retrieve images from my camera, the downloader dialog has an entry for how to create the subfolders. Perhaps you were using Custom Names before, but changed it to Shot date somewhere along the line?

Let's make sure we are talking about the same thing. You are talking about the folders on the left side. If that is correct there are 2 options: alphabetical or tree(your computer folder structure).
If the folder name is a date I believe it will sort first. Is this what you are talking about? If so, check what you are doing on import from your SD card or camera.

Thanks in advance, Chuck Ward One of the biggest complaint about the organizer in Elements 11 has been that it did NEVER allow sorting alphabetically in the folders panel on the left. In prior versions, it was possible to show files alphabetically in the folders panel (and only there). It's only in version 12 that the alphabetical sort choice has been enabled in all views, all media, folders, albums... |
