I am trying to get more speed out of my PSE.. I went to the "plug in and scratch disk" which was set to "startup" and reset to C drive which had 967 gb free. Speed was worse. I load all my images to an external drive. Then I looked at Mem & Imag Cache area and it is set to 6 and 55% (avail 1663 mb). Btw, Win 7 ultimate 64 bit, 16 mb Ram, intel core 15-4670 cpu & 3.40 GHZ.
Appreciate any how to use theses two preferences.

Hi Millard, Welcome to PSE&M! Have you looked at this from Adobe? It gives some good starting points on settings and also has a link to some further reading. |

(avail 1663 mb). Btw, Win 7 ultimate 64 bit, 16 mb Ram Hi Millard - welcome to the forum! Did you type that correctly? Available RAM is 1663 Mb? If you have 16Gb of RAM, that number seems very low. I have the default level of 6, and 70% RAM usage (but I've got 32Gb of RAM). What other drives do you have in your system? It sounds like you have a hard disk as your primary drive and a USB external. Anything else? Are you running a separate graphics card, or are you using the one in the system? An i5 processor and built-in video will not give you stellar performance. |
