Hello everyone,
Thought I'd better introduce myself. I really appreciate forums like this. I'm in Australia. I'm using PSE13 on a macbook and am quite happy with it after becoming frustrated with an earlier version that wouldn't let me use the text tool. Probably a user error somewhere along the line but it was unfixable. Tried everything. Have no problems with this version. Your forum has already pointed me to the Elements+ add-on which hopefully will end my frustration with a lack of editing options. Just that I'm a digital scrapper so I'm always looking for easy techniques that enhance or transform my images.
I'm self-taught and have only a very basic understanding of the programme but I'll try to contribute whatever I can.

Hi Flora, welcome to PSE&M! Just post and we will come to the rescue.
I don't want to derail this thread but I am curious. Just a quick question -- Could you just tell us which earlier version of Elements gave you problems with the Text tool and which OS system were you using? Thanks!

Hi again Sepiana. It was PSE12. My very first go at PSE. I was using the same OS I am now. Same macbook. I persevered with it for months and then gave up and bought 13. I wasn't the only one having problems with the text tool as everywhere I went looking for solutions someone else would be complaining about the same thing. It was actually causing the program to crash - every time. Have had not the slightest problem with this version. Bought it before Christmas last I think so it's been nearly a year. The OS has been updated in the usual way since then of course.

Hi Flora, welcome to the forum from another Aussie, I'm in Melbourne. You've found the best place to have all your questions answered, and don't forget to start up a gallery as we all love to see what others like to photograph. Jacki.

Ha Jack, you don't want to see my photos - trust me LOL I have a lot of learning to do. I can sometimes jag one but don't use a DSLR and don't have an eye for composition and I know how important that is. Had a quick look through your gallery and love that crocodile. Hate them for real and wouldn't dream of getting that close but it's such a wonderful image. You must have nerves of steel !!
I'm in Queensland up in the Wide Bay but spent a lot of years outback.

Hi Flora, the croc was in Sydney's Taronga Park Zoo, no nerves of steel required! I don't use a DSLR either, that's why I love using PSE, can help make an ordinary photo into something more interesting.
