This just started recently and is gradually getting worse, various functions in my Elements 7 organizer have slowed to a crawl.
Before this problem began, regardless of what I was doing, response was almost immediate.
Now, such tasks as adding notes, captions, and changing date/time can take as much as five minutes or longer.
In the "album" pane, clicking on the little triangle switches used to yield an immediate response and scrolling up/down through the albums was smooth and fluid; now, I can click one of the little triangles and it may be a minute or more before it responds; and, when I attempt to scroll it jerks and lurches along slowly.
Picking up and dragging a keyword tag is also an erratic lurching affair.
Can I fix this and regain the quick/smooth responsiveness that I had a couple weeks ago ?
If so, what do I do and how do I do it ?
Thanks for reading.

Thanks, Sepiana !!!
Regarding the first solution in the link you provided, my Elements 7 has no "media analysis" option in the preferences; that must have been added in later versions.
However, I did follow the instructions in the next solution to "repair and optimize catalog"; after doing that, everything I have thus tried has worked as good and quickly as it used to before the problems began ----- with one exception ----- although not quite so slow to respond as before, I am still experiencing some hesitation in response to clicking the little arrow/triangle switches that open/close the various album lists in the "albums" pane; interestingly, response to the same little switches in the "keyword" pane is rapid and immediate.
After following the instructions and repairing/optimizing the catalog, I experimented with adding some captions and notes and response was within seconds; whereas, before applying this solution, it was taking as much as five minutes or more to perform.
Thanks again for pointing me toward those instructions.

BuckSkin, glad to hear the Organizer has picked up speed. I believe the Media-Analysis feature was introduced in Elements 8 (Auto-Analyzer). It is known to make your computer run very sluggish. That's why it is usually recommended to turn if off. I checked John R Ellis' FAQs. Here is another suggestion to improve the Organizer's performance. It applies to Elements 7. The Keyword Tags pane is sluggish
