My apologies if I have chosen the wrong place to post this item.
I have 9 GB of available space on my C drive and 850 GB on the D drive. So far I have failed to work out how to move space from one to the other, but help is at hand.
I have just been reading the Tech specs for PSE 14 in which they say the System Requirements are, among other things, 5GB of hard disk space plus additional capacity during installation. The current 9GB appears to me to be an impossibly small safety margin.
My question is, does anyone know whether I must install PSE 14 on the C drive where PSE 12 lives with all my program files or may I put it on D and delete PSE 12 completely? I have lost confidence in this latter program recently and PSE 14 will be in my hands in a couple of days.

Hi
If your C drive is SSD, then PSE will run better on C. If it's not SSD, then I doubt it would make too much difference. Having said that, though, I think I would prefer to have it on C drive in which case, can you uninstall some other, less demanding programs and re-install on D drive, therefore, giving enough space for PSE 14.
There seems to be some difference of opinion as to how much space you need free on C drive so I would maybe aim to keep about 10% free, but maybe up to 20% if PSE is on C, to allow the drive to have enough room for the files, temp files etc as they will be quite large.
As for uninstalling PSE 12, you can have both versions installed together, which run independently.
I suspect someone with more knowledge and experience will be along and give further advice or correct what I've said

What I can say which might help, is that the PSE12 file size in the Program Files (x86) plus its size on the ProgramData amount to about 1 GB. That's without considering the catalog size of PSE12 and 14. Those catalogs would be better on drive D: There seems to be an agreement about the fact that catalogs are not more responsive on SSD drives. So, move your catalog folders (via the explorer) to the D: drive. Also, take care that you don't assign your C: drive for sratchdisks in your preferences. In the organizer preferences, don't forget to specify your default folders for images and scans.
