They (whoever they are) always say that two people can look at the same scene, or object, and come back with totally different photos. With that in mind, Canon, as part of their advertising campaign, conducted an experiment with 6 photographers and some every day items. This video makes for some interesting viewing, but goes some way to show us how creativity and inspiration builds up.

I think this makes a good case for viewing the many inspirational images posted on sites like 500px, Flickr etc. I couldn't help but wonder if some of the more creative takes would have occurred if that photographer had gone first.

I agree. The first couple of shots paved the way to more creativity.
I used to take part in 'Layer tennis'. A person started with a picture, then others took turn to add, or change the picture, and building up a story along the way. Very entertaining, and hilarious.
