Without our search function working, it was a bit more challenging finding the work submitted this week, thus the delay in posting.
However, I found that I could find the week's entries by visiting the individual galleries. Our members have created wonderful galleries that reflect their interests and talents. I was recently asked to answer the question : Why Do You Take Pictures?" This was something I had never really thought about. If you have never really thought about this, you may want to take some time to answer this question for yourself.
Sunday Morning on the Canal by angelag
I am always drawn to the way textures can enhance an image. I love the nostalgic look that angelag created with her canal image.
Moshi the Giraffe by Storkington
Simone's visits to the zoo often provide her with some wonderful images to share. Placed on a background there are no distractions and Moshi is shown with excellent detail.
Blue Mandala by tpgettys
Tom's twirls are becoming increasingly intricate and I marvel at his expertise in creating them.
Old Inn on Hollow Road by Berengeria
Berie found the perfect subject to create her painterly image. The unique perspective and painterly effect make this an image ready to be framed!
It has been pointed out to me that I made a mistake on this week's selection. My IOW selection was not posted during the last week. Therefore I am adding another image to the runner-ups.
Alone by Kathy Lee
With summer already quickly fading from my memory, it was a nice reminder that not so long ago we were enjoying flowers and warm weather. Please add this beautiful image to the list of this week's selections.
That being done I would like to make space for a large display of our new IOW selected from the images above:

My selection for IOW Before my mistake was pointed out to me!!!!!
Brunch Munch by srmoment
She did it again! Creating an image that causes an emotional reaction by the viewer is a goal of many photographers. I love the way Pat uses her talents to continually create images that are worthy of more than just a passing glance; images that make us ponder what steps she took in its creation. This week's image doesn't employ some of her advanced processing techniques but is sure to bring a smile to everyone's face!
