This question is a result of an answer Sepiana provided me in a thread I already had started, but I thought that this question would be best suited to stand alone in it's own thread so that others seeking the same answer would be more likely to find it.
Can Elements 7 have Grant's Tools and Elements Plus both installed without creating any conflicts ?
If not, which is the better choice ?
I have a list of everything included in Elements Plus; but, I have no knowledge of just what and how much is included in Grant's Tools; can someone provide that information ?

I don't have an answer to your question, but your signature caught my eye and made me laugh! It is so true; the difference from the film days is profound and still being worked out. The downside of being able to take thousands of pictures is only just now making itself understood; there are thousands of them! Just because we can...
The world has changed in many significant ways, but not at such a pace that people live to see several of them. We had hardly accepted the idea of transmitted moving images before they were in color, and then on ultra-thin screens.
Now that I think about it however, Grant's tools are *so* very old (LOL) that I can't help but think that Elements+ is the far superior choice.

BuckSkin, Yes, Grant's Tools and Elements+ can coexist without issues. However, IMO, it doesn't make much sense because -- among many other things -- Elements+ has all the features offered by Grant's Tools (Curves, etc.). BTW, the (free) demo version of Elements+ also includes this basic set of tools as Grant's Tools does: video-books.net/downloads/index.htm#elem+ |

tpgettys, I am glad you liked my signature.
We were so poor (and still are) that taking a picture was not something that was done without us considering just what it was costing us; and then, with the old simple cameras we always had, more often than not, the resulting 5x7 prints left a lot to be desired.

- I have Grant's Tools as well as Elements+. I am quite familiar with both and have recommended both for many years. - Yes, they can co-exist in Elements. - Do you need both? No. - Which one is the better choice? Elements+. - Why? It offers many more features. Grant's Tools contain only seven actions -- Curves, Channel Mixer, Channels (Red, Green, and Blue), Channels RGB, and a Layer Mask.

Age has no bearing in this issue. Grant Dixon and the late Wendy Williams kept Grant's Tools updated and shared them with the EV members. As a matter of fact, Wendy updated these actions not too long before she passed away. The current/latest version of Grant's Tools (written for Elements 8) works just fine in Elements 9 through Elements 14. This version also works in Elements 7. What makes Elements+ a "far superior choice" is that it offers many more features. Grant's Tools offer only seven actions.

Thanks Sepiana (you must never sleep).
As soon as I saw it, I clicked on the Grant's Tools link you provided; and, much to my surprise, immediately the file was there waiting for me to put it somewhere; so I now have it tucked safely in a folder titled Grants Tools.
I thought I had better get all my questions asked before I installed it.

If you decide to install Grant's Tools and need help with the installation, just post back. I have written very detailed instructions how to go about it in Elements 7.
