Our thanks to those of you who took the time to respond to our request for feedback on the forum. It was overwhelmingly positive and we are grateful to have such supportive members!
We listened to your feedback and we’ve tried to summarize it and what actions we are going to take:
Individual User Galleries and the inability to sort by newest first.
Unfortunately, this is not supported by the plug-in that provides the Gallery function. We are going to test an alternative that might make the situation better. This is a thumbnail view of the images, and while it won’t change the sort order, it makes it easier to see the images since you get a grid of thumbnails displayed. At some point in the near future we will enable this for a short period of time and then poll our members as to whether you prefer this view or the current view we have.
The “Latest Gallery Posts” link at the top of the forum currently displays images starting with the most recent. This functionality would not change with the new thumbnail view.
More resources for scrapbookers.
We will be creating a sticky thread of digital scrapbooking resources. We are also open to running a scrapbooking challenge, but we really need someone who could run it. Most of the challenges here are done by the admins and we can’t take on another one at this time.
Why doesn’t PSE&M show up at the top of the search engine results?
We’d love for it to show at the top - but we can’t control that. There is a whole science behind how search engines work and how to improve your ranking, and none of us are experts on that. The best way to improve our ranking is for our members to keep visiting, keep posting, and share our site via Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, etc. The more links to this site from other sites, the better our search engine ranking will be.
Challenge frequency
Some of the comments concerned the frequency of the challenges. There wasn’t consistent feedback about whether they should be more or less frequent. We’ve looked at this and feel that the current frequency is the best at this time. You can participate in them as often as you are able, and they don’t close, so you can always go back to an earlier one.
Getting to our forum via Really Simple Syndication (RSS) and any news reader (Feedly, Newsify, Pulse, etc.).
This exists today! The link is: photoshopelementsandmore.com/rss/public
You should be able to enter that into any news reader and keep up to date on the forum. If you are a mobile user, we can also recommend the TapaTalk application, which gives you full forum access (read and write).
Thread updates and other notifications
A new FAQ has been posted that explains how to change the method and frequency that you receive updates on specific threads or other forum actions.
Forum performance with various browsers
Anyone who is having issues with the forum, regardless of the reason, should post their question in the Forum Questions and Feedback board. While some users have issues with one browser, others have had problems with others. There doesn't seem to be anything consistent, so post your question and we will do our best to help.
