I don't look at the galleries very often. But I do like how you can see all the pictures at once instead of having to scroll down the whole page. Thanks Tom.

I like the thumbnails. They definitely load much quicker than the images used to. The only comment I'll make is that I have some difficulty reading the text under the photo/image when I've clicked on the thumbnail to enlarge it. It rotates out of sight before I've had a chance to read what has been written and often have to wait for it to come around again several times before I know what's been written
Other than that, I think it's great. Thanks very much

Thanks for your feedback Julie; I quite agree with the pluses and minuses you mentioned. I hope after the new year the developer will address some of the issues that have been raised.
Please don't forget to enter your vote in the poll!

I thought I had entered my vote but I've just checked and it seems I hadn't. I have now. Thanks for pointing that out Happy New Year to you all

Bonjour,
Here are a few comments/suggestions concerning on the new Individual User Gallery features, respectfully submitted.
After we have clicked on a thumbnail to look at a photo:
- Maybe the photo would benefit from a little bit more free space around it and a more neutral and discrete frame. The “Add comment” button almost touches the photo and the red top bar of the photo frame does not necessarily match the spirit of its content (I have no issue with the red for the whole site).
- When applicable: the “n more” Likes link does not seem to work in the Individual User Gallery board. However, for a same picture reached through the “Latest Galleries Posts” the “n more” Likes link is working fine.
- I agree that the scrolling text of the title makes it hard to read. I find that the grey bar containing the title is distracting, if not, sometimes, invading. I would personally prefer if the title would not appear in the photo itself. I like better the way the title is presented when a photo is reached through the Latest Gallery Post link.
When we are viewing the thumbnails:
- As a reference tool, it would be useful to see the title under each thumbnail. Maybe also (could be too much) the posting date.
Thank you for all your time and efforts, and for your dedication.
Maurice.

I hope everyone understands that this feature is a plug-in for this forum that was developed by someone else. As such, we have very little control over it, other than requesting changes from the developer.

Yes we do understand and are appreciative of what we have. Our comments are just suggestions for improvement in response to a request for feedback, but if someone else developed the add-on and we have no control over that, we are okay with that too. Thanks again to everyone who works so hard on this site!

Mods... if this is not posted in the correct forum please feel free to move it.
I was just looking at some of the Galleries and noticed the Titles that scroll at the bottom of the image. Is there a way to slow them down? If the Title is lengthy there is no way I am able to read the full line.
Thank you

Hi Charles,
I moved your post here, as there has been an ongoing dialogue on the gallery feature.
Now, to answer your question: unfortunately the plug-in, which provides our forum with the image gallery feature, is something developed independently by a third party. Tom has contacted that person to see if changes to the plug-in can be made, however, the individual is away until the end of January, so nothing will change until after that.
I am sure Tom will take your feedback into account and put it on his list of requests for the developer.

I like the idea of thumbnails. I can look through them, then enlarge the ones I want to view. Nice feature. I had difficulty finding out how to place my vote, though. But got there eventually.

It is probably just me but I can't see the titles or the owner's comments at all. All I see is any subsequent comments made by others. Clearly people have mentioned scrolling text so I am missing something. Oh well.
