I am using PSE 8.

I need to clone a small area of my photo. The item is an irregular shape and therefore I am selecting it with the LASSO tool and doing a COPY after selection.

How do I specify where to do the PASTE on the photo?

Hi brightonnovice, welcome to PSE&M!

Once you do Paste (Ctrl-V, Cmmd-V on a Mac), the selection will be on its own layer above your photo. Just use Free Transform (Ctrl-T, Cmmd-T on a Mac) to reposition/resize it if needed.

Worked great. I just had to remember to deselect the Lasso image before the transform or it leaves a hole in the image.
