Is this the place to ask about a forum detail? Namely how to create a draft post i.e. a genuine post that requires polishing up later before posting, or one where you are interrupted composing your masterpiece and you just want to save your work until later, when you come back from shopping etc. If I've come to the wrong place, please put me in the right one gently, I'm a bit sensitive at the moment with other things going on.

For what you are describing, a post that I would like to edit or add to after a period of time, I would probably use word or pages for example, to gather my thoughts. After I had it the way I wanted, I would copy/paste it into the reply here at the forum. However, this forum does have a nice feature that you may not be aware of. If you were partway through your reply, and you wanted to go back and check something in another thread perhaps, when you came back to your reply you would get an automatic little pop-up with your previously started reply asking if you would like to continue. I hope I am describing this clearly. As an example at EV, if I switched threads before finishing my reply and came back, my reply would be gone....totally frustrating. I really like that feature of this forum.

Let me give it a try. I have clicked Reply and am typing this. Now I will click New Posts...
OK, I'm back! I read a recent post, then came back to this thread, and yes, I was given the chance to continue editing this message!
Note: when I clicked Yes, it did not place me into this editor; my previous text was deposited into the reply window at the bottom of the screen.

Tom -
That should be it. I had mine set to off. Let's see....
Yep - it works. Thanks. Is it supposed to dump you into Quick Reply instead of the normal Reply box?

Great, glad we could get that figured out. I think that is something that should be written up for our members, as I am sure the default is "Off". Yes, that was my experience, Quick Reply (but it does retain any BBCode you may have used).

Good idea, Tom. I just added the FAQ (please take a look and see if it makes sense to you.)
