Those are all terrific and it looks like it must have been a lot of fun creating them. I am going to jump in and have a try with this over the next few days. Be patient with me though as I have never done any digital scrapbooking, so I have no doubt my first few attempts will be feeble.
Good to see you throw out the challenge and also give us some direction on how to get started - kudos!

Hi Sydney
Thank you for your comments. It is a lot of fun. There is no rush so you don't need to feel any pressure just enjoy yourself. It's another avenue to showcase your photos or in my case someone else's photos as I'm not a photographer…Having looked at your Gallery you have some very nice photos to choose from. Look forward to seeing a page when you are ready.

Sydney - start with the photos - size them, arrange them, and let them be your inspiration.
Although I scrap fairly symmetrically and mostly kinda rigidly, there is no rule about photo placement.
Once you have your photos in place, pick a color from one of the photos and make that your background "paper" - add some text, and you have a scrapbook layout.
The background paper can be dressed up by using brushes. If you want a subtle effect, choose a color for your brush that is close to the paper color. If you want a dramatic effect, choose a bold color. HINT - open a new layer for the brush strokes. That way you can always delete it if you decide you don't like it.
Once you see your layout coming together, you may get inspired to grab some of the elements that PSE provides in their graphics panel and scatter them around.
Remember - there is no right way or wrong way to design a scrapbook layout.

Everything on this page came from the Graphics that come with PSE and can be found under the various sections of the Graphics Tab. I added a bit of Noise filter to the background paper, a blue and white gradient to the cloud shapes and a purple and brown gradient to the man with the spade. Also added a bevel to both men, the cat, the dog, the fire and the sun. It's just a bit of fun.

Your Golden Days picture has made me want to have a try with this. And, like Sydney, I am inspired, too. Just depends what I can manage with my 'out of the ark' Elements 2.

Here is my first attempt. I hope I complied with all of the rules. I used my own photos and the built in frame and graphics from PSE. While it isn't very flash I had a lot of fun and learned a few things along the way!

Sydney - what a fun page. Great job. Don't worry about the rules. Challenges are just to get your mind going. It helps the creation process when you have a goal with parameters. It's not meant to be serious. Now that you got your feet wet, I hope to see more of your work.
Billie Jean - another fun page. I like the way you found so many neat things standard on PSE to make a complete story on your page.

Love your first attempt at scrapping Sydney. Your page is very colourful and looks like fun. As cats4jan said don't worry too much about the rules they are just a rough guide to help us get going. I'm glad you enjoyed it and hope to see more of your pages.
Thanks Janice. I was amazed myself when I went looking to see just what was available within the Graphics tab section. Always learning.

I have used freebies from unknown sources, even the photos aren't mine as they were taken by the professional who stood on various landmarks to catch the action as we fled by. The preferred colour scheme is also only hinted at, but it's probably one of the quickest pages I've ever put together, seeing as most of it was done for me. i.imgur.com/jo2jIhy.jpg

Here's my efforts for the Digi Scrapbooking Challenge. I've included Yellow, Green and Purple, Frame is the photo stroked. The photo is from Pixaby. Papers and ladybug from GabisCreation Turn of the Year. Butterflies from Google. I used the brush for the squiggly lines and yellow/Green flower

jackscrap – that looks like a lot of fun. Love your word art and how you have placed it on the page. It tells the story. A great day out…
Squirrel – What a great start. A lovely page and your word art made me smile and that can't be bad! Nice touches with the squiggly lines and other embellies and I like how you have the original photo faded into the background of the cream paper. It all goes together very well. Thank you for taking part and hope you will feel free to continue as we go along.
