Each time I open a file in Photoshop I get a dialog asking me if I should use the embedded colour profile or another option. I don't find where to set the preference to get the default to keep the embedded profile? Thanks in advance.

Michel,
I don't get the dialog you are talking about when I open a file in Photoshop. Try Edit>Color Settings>Color Management Policies. Check to see if the "Ask When . . ." boxes are turned on; this may explain the question that keeps popping up. Also, do you have the "Preserve Embedded Profiles" option selected?

Thanks, Sepiana, Now solved: the first item in that dialog (RGB) was by default set to the monitor profile, not to the common sRGB or aRGB profiles. I had to choose the embedded profile each time... For me the default choices in Elements are much more logical and simple!

I had changed the default Working Spaces (RGB) to sRGB. I guess this explains why I never got that pop-up question.
