The other day I was trying to do something in Firefox, but I pressed the wrong key combination, and I what I saw I liked, that being above the tabs in top left corner I saw "File Edit etc." For the life of me I do not know what it was I pressed and would love to have all this back! I am hoping someone will tell me how to get that to return! Thank you

Yes, I like the menu system also! This will probably get you in the right area to make the menu system permanently appear on FF * Click on the 3 horizontal line in the upper right of the FF screen * At the bottom of the produced list click on customize * Bottom left of produced screen click on the arrow next to show/hide tool bars

You may have pressed the Alt key. According to this document, pressing this key will temporarily bring up the menu bar.

All you have to do is go up to an empty space at the top of your screen and right click. A drop down menu appears - put a check against Menu Bar and your done...

Sepiana, Per what I show in my response to Peter, the same thing is true for your first suggestion on the Missing Title Bar / Menu Bar. There is a lot of information to look at per Customizing in your second suggestion which I will look at very soon. Thank you for this help

Michel, I have used the F11 key many times over the years. That will make the viewing area larger, but does not add the File Edit View menu as BillieJean showed me how to add

Sepiana, Per what I show in my response to Peter, the same thing is true for your first suggestion on the Missing Title Bar / Menu Bar. I don't know why it doesn't work for you. Here is another document from Mozilla support which seems to go along with Peter's suggestion and with the suggestion in the link in my previous post.
What happened to the File, Edit, and View menus?

The F11 key toggles the Bookmarks menu at the top of your screen off or on.
The Alt key as Sepiana has said temp brings up the Menu Bar.
As for the instructions to click on the 3 horizontal lines in the upper right of the FF Screen and click on Customize. That is quite correct. I believe your mistake, going by your screen shot, is that you are not looking far enough left. Go to the far left (outside of the area of your screen shot) and you will see 3 buttons marked Title Bar, Show/Hide Toolbars and Themes.
But the easiest way of all to get your Menu Bar is the one I already told you.

When I press F11 at the top of my screen it hides the Toolbar menu (Thank you BillieJean!) and it hides all the tabs that are open, thus giving me a larger viewing area of the contents on the browser web page. Is that what you see michel?

Just a minute ago while reading what everyone else was saying did I finally look in the lower left corner of my full screen. That is where you told me to look, and that is where I just now saw "Title Bar Show / Hide Toolbars Themes" Please feel free to lash me 1,000 times with a wet noodle!
