Those are some serious looking bird-houses.
I like the pulley system that runs them up and down the pole.
The only martin houses I ever see around here are mostly just big gourds or gallon-sized bleach-jugs with a hole cut in the side.
I wonder where martins nested before people started providing housing for them.
Speaking of birds in general, we had numerous and varied birds around our place until the cat lady moved in nearby; now, every time I go outside, I see a different cat prowling around. Before the cat lady moved in, I saw more variety of birds in one day than I see in three months now.
Besides eliminating all the birds, we can't leave a vehicle/house/barn door or window open and one of us now has to stand guard while the other one carries in the groceries. |
