Took an old photo that was nice but nothing exciting and opened it in Topaz Texture Effects and played around a little. C & C welcome.

preeb....I like your image but don't have any C & C. However, I am glad you posted this. I ended up getting Texture Effects on the advice of a friend but have never created anything I was happy with using it. I would love to see some other images that people have created using Texture Effects.

I accept your challenge Helen! Here is a group we had play last Saturday. The light is terrible, and surroundings to match, but they were a lot of fun, playing 60's folk music. I'd like to think this image is an improvement over the original in terms of energy and atmosphere. I have a hard time with Effects also, perhaps because there are SO many choices to wade through, but for many of my mediocre images most anything is an improvement! I don't really recall now, but this may be the video that helped me better understand my way around Effects

Thanks, Tom. Your image looks nice with the subtle hint of texture....and the choice of music sounds like it had to be a fun evening. I have seen watched some of the videos and am pretty comfortable with the way things work, I just can never create something that I like as well as adding textures the way I did before TE. I'll have to play with it some more.

Gave Texture Effects another try. Started with my blank canvas and added effects and some of my own textures that I had uploaded. At the end I used PS's Sandstone texture. I'm pleased with the result....maybe I need to spend some more time with it.......

That is a nice image Helen, without a doubt! It can be fun playing with the various offering, but I often get lost in deciding which I like best.
As an experiment, I would try adding a layer mask to partially remove the effect from the subject building and trees to further exaggerate the separation.

I think it's perfect just as it is. If that isn't Tuscany, it's something very similar, and it looks just exactly like a Tuscan vista in the early morning haze. Great rendering!

All three images are beautiful! Sadly I have not been able to get Effects to work on my computer, even though all other Topaz products work perfectly .... Maybe someday Mark~

Maybe someday Mark~ Mark, have you submitted a ticket to Topaz? If not, I would strongly recommend you do it. They offer a five-star tech/custom service.

Thanks hmca, I have been all though that a number of times, including a couple of their 'fixes' ....
Sepiana, you are right, I will finally put in a ticket, I just can't imagine what else could be done to fix this.
Thanks again to you both.
Mark~
