These pictures were taken by me at a nearby Ecology park. According to a warden, something was wrong with the pond water. It did not affect wild life at all. The tree was close to the pond. I don't know if the same thing was the cause of that changing colour.

I was able to view the article that Jacki posted.
From the article: "the pink colour is the result of a natural and harmless phenomenon that occurs due to the summer temperature and high salt water concentration in the lake. Dunalella salina and halobacterium are the scientific harmless reasons causing the visual wonder. According to the experts, the hot weather, salty water and sunlight coupled with low rainfall causes this beautiful phenomena."

Thank you hmca. Low rainfall can't have anything to do with this lake. Janice - the tree was spectacular.
