Wow, thanks so much Alex for pointing this out to us all on the forum! I am anxious to play around with it and will try to get around to downloading it during the coming week

Yes, when I installed it it installed itself in PSE 10, 11, 12 and 14 (all the versions I have). I am glad you wrote this, MM. I downloaded and installed nikcollection. Then couldn't find where it had gone to. I eventually went to add/remove programs, and discovered it was in Elements 11. Now I can't find it in there . . . or am I looking in the wrong places. Help needed if you can, please.

The Nik collection can be found in the Filter menu.

Just been having another look, and found two mentions - File - automation tools. And Filter.
Thank you.

The thing in File | Automation tools is kind of a mini-menu for the effects. You can get to them either through this menu or through the effects menu.

I love new toys to play with, but I can't seem to get around to learning all the stuff I already have. I'm not sure I'm up to having MORE stuff!

Oh for about ten more hours each day to learn and play with all these goodies! I have them bookmarked for the next rainy day.

Oh for about ten more hours each day to learn and play with all these goodies! I have them bookmarked for the next rainy day. Ha Ha, come to England - it's always raining!!!! No, not really, especially where I am which is in East Anglia, not far from Cambridge. We get the least rain than the rest of the country and our rainfall is apparently on a par with that of Israel. Only difference is we don't get it all at once! Yes, thank you very much, Helen, for posting the link to the tutorials. As Rapata says, Oh, for more hours in the day Julie

Here is an interesting article from the New Yorker magazine in which the writer talks about the Nik collection and reasons why Google may be giving it away for free: link

Thanks for sharing, Sydney. While I imagine a host of dedicated photographers lamenting this direction, it seems developing apps for people who use their phone as their camera may be a sign of our times.

Tim Grey has offered his NIK learning course bundle for free. You can find it here. Oh, I just noticed this - thanks very much Helen, I will check out his courses. From what I have been able to pickup from watching youtube tutorials this weekend I am very impressed with the collection. Using control points to make selective adjustments is fast and easy and gives terrific results. I can see why a lot of professional photographers use the NIK collection.
