I am trying to import pre-tagged images into the PSE 14 Organizer and I am not getting the correct results. These images have had the tag information saved to the file (File>Save Metadata to Files) before being imported into this catalog.
On import the dialog box appears that says "The new photos have Keyword tags attached to them. Select the Keyword Tags you would like to import."This is the normal behavior for the Organizer. What's not normal is that normally the tags that already exist in the catalog will have an asterisk next to the keyword tag name indicating that the tag already exists in the catalog, this is not happening in PSE 14.
Normally I click on the button that says Select All and my images are imported and all is well, the tags appear in the correct places and it works great.
Now with PSE 14 when I choose "Select All" the tags are imported again and added to the Imported Keyword Tags category. Now they appear twice in my list of tags (where they originally were and under Imported Keyword Tags) making a mess of my catalog. For some reason PSE 14 does not recognize that these tags are already in the catalog.
Even if the tag appears in the Imported Keyword Tags list and I import more images it will not show the asterisk on the Keyword Tags list on import.
I have done this for years and it always works great. I have gone back and tested this in PSE 10-13 and it works fine.
I have tried tagging the images in earlier versions of PSE and importing them to PSE 14 Organizer and get the same results. I tried tagging them in PSE 14 and then importing them back into PSE 14 and get the same results.
I have installed the 14.1 update and it did not fix this issue.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
