Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just post a photo or photos which will be your interpretation of the theme.
The rules are rather simple.
Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. Your photo(s) should be taken during the week of the theme. You are allowed to do some photoshopping. You are to experiment and, most of all, have fun.
NOTE: The idea is to capture something which is now being used for a different purpose. Ex.: A decommissioned church which is now a private residence or a restaurant, a discarded bathtub which is now being used as a planter, etc., etc. The inspiration for this theme came from this image by tonyw .

This is a shell of a building that was torn down and now an open air bar is in it's place.

This used to be a countryside railway and station. It is now a woodland walk, and the building is now a visitor centre, shop and restaurant. I took my dogs out there today. Bit muddy after all the rain we have had. This is the back of the building.

whippet, great interpretations of Repurposed! I really like how you captured the building in your second image with it being naturally framed by the trees and the white fences. Well done!

Thank you.
The line opened in 1882. So I imagine the station was built then, too. The line finally closed completely in 1968.

The rain stopped briefly to grab this shot (taken with a phone) of the nicest looking repurposed church in the area. I do remember meeting the original owners many years ago who said how much their kids enjoyed being able to play basketball in the living room! These days kids would probably use it to fly drones... Originally it was Burns Presbyterian Church built in 1887 but the community it originally served has long gone - just a cemetery across the road remains. Tony

Tony,
Glad the rain stopped and you were able to capture this repurposed church. This is beautiful! I love the details on its façade. The tree reflection on the window is a bonus.

Another Railroad depot ... repurposed as a hamburger joint (actually there's also a beauty saloon in the right hand wing, you just can't see it from this angle.) I almost didn't post this as whippet beat me to it with her railway station, but after four days of trying to get a shot without cars parked in front I went with it anyway .... Trains still go through here may times a day, they just don't stop here any longer. Processed in PSE 11 and finished in Topaz Impressions, not sure I'm completely satisfied with the final image, but thought I'd see what you folks had to say! Edit: I guess it needs to be a bit bigger to see the Topaz effects ... sorry ....

Mark,
Glad you went with it; I love images of anything having to do with railroads. Glad you waited for the cars to be gone; you ended with up a beautiful and colorful capture. It was worth the wait!

Many of our railroad lines have been decommissioned/abandoned and, eventually, repurposed. They are now pedestrian/bike trails. Here is one of these trails; it follows an abandoned railroad corridor built in 1868.
