www.shutterfly.comWhat I like about Shutterfly is the design of their ready-made templates. I like the multi-photo pages. I have seen Shutterfly books and calendars and they have the look of store-bought calendars -- not exactly the photo quality you are used to when getting prints, but they are pretty nice. I thought I would share this with you all. If you plan to use Shutterfly from within Elements . . .

Thanks for that Shutterfly update. I never even knew there was a time when it was integrated, but for those who worked within those parameters, it's good to know it's no longer an option.

Elements has had this feature -- integrated photo printing services -- for quite a while. You can send images and projects to online printing services via the Adobe Photoshop Services in the Organizer. There are other options besides the now-removed Shutterfly.

I've used Blurb and their free program, Booksmart, to make several books. The book quality is very good. I use luster paper and image wrap or softcover for the binding. Everyone that I've given a book to or that has bought a book has been very pleased. They are a bit pricey so I wait to place my order until I get the 35% off discount codes in their emails.

Thank you so much for this link. I read it all and am now reading the comments. The only thing negative about the review is that it's more than two years old and we all know how stuff like this changes. What has held me back from printing my layouts outside of my Epson is quality. My Epson R1900 does a semi-gloss print that is superb. However, what do I do with the prints now? If I put them into plastic sleeves, I lose what I love about the prints. If I bind them, I have a one-sided book. An outside source printing a book for me is the only answer, but nothing comes close to my semi-gloss. I guess I should print a sample book first.

I'm a bit suspicious of that site, since their top rated book is their featured sponsor. I've used both Snapfish and Shutterfly - both were easy to use and probably look fine to most people. I thought the photos lacked pop. I've used Blurb through Lightroom (and haven't been really thrilled with that experience), but like the Blurb results. I find their price a little high, and I don't seem to get discounts that often. What I have used of late is My Publisher. I really like the quality of the result (although I pay extra for the better paper). They also have a lot of discounts, so I never pay the list price.

I love the hard cover that blurb offers. Black - which makes photos pop and the texture or lack of make a nice smooth feel the touch with a mat finish. I found Shutterfly a bit cheesey with it's ultra shiny cover. All my books have been 12x12 which makes a nice size for a coffee table book. Mixing up the page layouts - some photos can really shine at 12x12. If you want to view my books, private message me and I can link you to them.

My blurb book, which was a gift to my parents, had a white hard cover, and as blackmutt says, the quality was outstanding. I went with a simple layout, white background for all my pages, and thanks to the easy interface and adjustable templates I created 12x12 pages with a number of photos and text. As I said previously, all my colours turned out true, so I was very happy.
All in all, there are lots of options out there, and the best thing is to just determine what your needs are (size of book, number of photos per page, layout flexibility, shipping costs, overall cost, options, etc etc). Once you know what you want you can then go through some of the recommendations made here and see which one best fits your needs and budget.
Good luck and let us know how you get on!

I used Photobook Canada, and the quality of the books was excellent, especially the larger layflat hardcover books, which are more expensive, but worth it.
