Here are my choices for image of the week: Twirl by TPGettys– what a wonderful, feathery twirl. One of your very best Tom! A World War1 Reenactor – this sketch is full of character and simplicity Sunshine on a rainy day – Simone – LOVE the colors and softness here! ...and here is the Image of the Week May 16-22, 2016 Folded Grapefruit - ….this image is totally different!!! I kept coming back to it as it is so intriguing and imaginative!

Wow! Thanks for including my twirl in this week's selections, and thank you for the kind words srmoment ! I especially liked the folded grapefruit too; I'm hoping notacat will share how it was done! Actually, I was also curious if PeteB used some published tut for his fine sketches, and if so please share! @storkington 's treatment is just lovely, I agree; the bokah texture is perfect!

Wow, thanks for all your kind comments about my image. It's really quite simple: 1)Photograph the object of your choice against a plain, contrasting background.Load into PSE. 2)Cut in half and scan cut side down into PSE. 3)Open scanned image in editor, select the object and make it layer1. 4)Using the rectangular marquee select roughy half of layer1, cut and paste and make this layer2. You should now have two complimentary portions of your original layer1. 5)Flip layer2 horizontally and align the 2 straight edges. 6)Use the rectangular marquee to select half of layer2, cut and paste and make this layer3. 7)Flip layer3 horizontally and align the straight edges. 8)Open the photographed image in editor, select the object, make it a layer and copy it into your scanned image. Make it layer4. 9)Fill layer2 with Layer4. You now have the basic folded shape. Decide where your light source is coming from and add shadows to give the image depth. 10)Add a background of your choice. Select all layers except that one and rotate the layers simultaneously until the image looks good to you.
I hope this helps a bit. My computer's trying to crash so I had to rush it a bit. Thanks again, Dave K
