Fascinating, but certainly understandable why getting permission to shoot these is becoming increasingly difficult.

I've flown drones/quad copters for several years now & have a nice collection of videos & pictures. I also fly them with (first person view) fpv goggles & the small cameras give amazing quality & wide field of view, the larger quad I used the Gopro camera & the smaller quad with a tiny Sony camera. Although can be a costly hobby to get setup shopping around you could find some good deals or the other cheaper option is to make your own quad from a kit, ether way you decide to go the experience is what a pilot sees.

Jim, what kind of drones do you have and how long can they stay in the air for on one battery charge? I looked at a couple yesterday and they were only capable of staying aloft for 11 minutes before the batteries needed to be recharged.
