Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just post a photo or photos which will be your interpretation of the theme.
The rules are rather simple.
Your photo(s) should be yours, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. Your photo(s) should be taken during the week of the theme. You are allowed to do some photoshopping. You are to experiment, and, most of all, have fun.

That's how I feel too. I love trains and anything related to them. It is Chattanooga Choo Choo time.

I too was delighted to hear that this week's theme is to be things connected with trains - I love train travel. The first shot is of the interior of my train up to London - I waited until all the passengers had gone before pausing to admire the design and comfort of the new rolling stock. The second shot shows the obverse of the coin - the inevitable and dreaded Engineering Works which always pop up everywhere on Bank Holiday weekends. Platforms closed, so I can't travel on to where I want to be. I have a few more shots, so I hope to add more later, when I have time to sort out the other train "accessories". Brenda

Brenda,
You got this challenge to a great start. I love your reverse-of-the-coin shots. You raised the bar for us. Great job!
I am also delighted to hear you love train travel. Looking forward to seeing more of your train "accessories".

The Stockton to Darlington was the world's first passenger rail line. This sculpture was built at Darlington, to celebrate that fact. It appears to be coming out of a tunnel, with clouds of smoke billowing.

whippet,
A brick train! Very interesting interpretation of this theme. This is quite an unusual sculpture; I bet train buffs just love it. Well done!

Blackfriars - my favourite station in London. It is quite unique, being built on a bridge spanning the Thames with wonderful views of London to admire while you await the arrival of your train. In addition to St. Paul's Cathedral, which you can see in this picture, there are views of Tower Bridge, Tate Modern, etc. I always use Blackfriars in preference to Victoria (overcrowded and full of retail outlets).

Dennis,
Great capture of a very unique train station! I love the leading lines guiding one's eyes into the background. They add a sense of motion to this image. Well done!

this brings back memories......my homes were train stations and the sound of the units crashing and banging the cars around in the yard was my music. Our "yard" was a gigantic playgound for my brothers and I as we were always over and under, up and down the cars [which btw, you should NEVER do], and when we needed a ride to a nearby town or city, we hitched a ride on the caboose (which sadly, is gone these days).

Pat,
Nice effect on your interpretation of this theme. A Lensbaby effect? The story to go with it is definitely a bonus.
I don't remember you participating in this challenge before. So, welcome to the Weekly Photo Challenge! If you haven't done so yet, please, take the time to read this -- What is the Weekly Photo Challenge?
Looking forward to seeing you here every Monday, checking the posted theme, and, then, grabbing your camera and capturing something to fulfill the challenge.

Thanks for the fun theme Sepiana ... I'm enjoying everyone's entries! I went with some classic chrome passenger stock from the old Willamette and Pacific Line.

Bill,
This is a classic capture of a classic American icon. I love how you made use of leading lines -- diagonally and horizontally, meeting at an angle. This is the kind of shot I see in my dreams. Great job!
