i have a portrait that is sharp in lr 5x and when i import to elements 14 it appears and is out of focus. any suggestions or help as to why? help would be awesome. Thanks.

Have you tried opening it directly....that is not importing it? Go to file> open in camera raw in PSE. See if it looks good that way.

thanks bryston ... but no open file as raw in pse. can only open saved lr file as psd. perhaps i should import Raw file from card into pse.

I often have the same problem with Canon DPP and Elements; I can have the image looking razor-sharp in DPP, convert&save as TIFF, then open it in Elements and it has lost it's sharpness.
It can be somewhat disappointing.

If you have made edits in LR, you have to tell LR to create the xmp sidecar file holding the edits settings, or to 'save' in the DNG raw format which contains the raw data plus the edit instructions. Open the DNG file or the original raw file which now has an xmp sidecar file in Elements, and you should see exactly the same image.

I've also had this problem occasionally with Nikon image files. Sharp in LR then not so sharp in Elements. I'll try saving as dng file in LR then opening in Elements. Thanks for the tip.
