Making use of the History Panel. Presenters of tutorials never seem to do so, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did when they try it all out. Think of it as the de-luxe edition of the Undo and Redo buttons. Instead of cycling through the buttons you can pick the stage you wish to go back to at a glance, because it gives every step a name. If you make a change at that point the following stages vanish, but if you only look, e.g. to compare different Effects or Filters, you can go back to where you were last. When you close the image all content is lost. A detailed description can be found in Help Chapter 2 > Workspace > Undo etc. Rita Here’s an example :

Yes that's a great tip Rita. I use the History panel quite frequently. Saves a lot of work.

Use the history panel as my "undo button" all the time.

And, if you have Elements 10 and earlier, you use the Undo History panel. This was one of the changes Adobe introduced in Elements 11 -- the History panel. Just a little name change sneaked in!!!
