Well, I seem to have made the move from PSE 13 to PS CC (long story) and with that also to LR CC from my LR5 standalone version.
So questions I have:
1. Is there anything that will walk me through the PS CC workspace without me having to read a complete book on it (I prefer the written word rather than videos)? I guess, and I haven't had a proper look yet, it isn't too dissimilar from PSE from a tools perspective, but I did notice another right hand side panel I wasn't expecting (other than the layers panel). 2. Is there anything (and I have only done a quick Google search) that gives me a "if you are moving from PSE you need to learn about these tools, as they are not available in PSE"? 3. If you have made the jump from PSE to PS, did you find the learning curve a steep one or was it relatively easy given your PSE experience?
Thankfully Lightroom seems to be similar with a few new tools, so no learning curve there I think (unless somebody here tells me otherwise!).
Thanks,

Simone,
Yes, there is a learning curve. However, how steep this curve will be depends on one's previous experience with Elements. Elements has come a long way; Adobe has made available to this program many features/tools which used to be Photoshop-only.
As to customizing the workspace -- Go to Window>Workspace> . . . and select Photography. This will give you a workspace very similar to the one in Elements. Then, you can customize it to your heart's content. See if this will help.

And here is the complete Help file for PS CC.

I am not sure you want to go down this route . . .
When I got PS CC, the first thing I did was to order this book -- Photoshop CC: The Missing Manual by Lesa Snider. It is a mammoth of a book (almost 900 pages) but this is the Photoshop Bible according to the experts. I have to admit I have not read it from cover to cover. I just keep it on my desk and refer to it as needed.

Thank you Sepiana, I will change the workspace as suggested; having something similar to my usual PSE space will help me no end.
As for the book, I might bite the bullet on that one eventually, always good to get a recommendation - so thank you very much!

How have you found the transition thus far Simone and what prompted the move from PSE? I might be making the leap from PSE to PS CC myself at some point in the next few months as I would really like to be able to create smart objects. This would be particularly helpful when using plugins such as Topaz so that I could go back later into a particular program and make adjustments.

Sydney, the reason for the move is a rather long one, but I sort of inherited a subscription from my daughter and as I am getting more into the photo composite field I thought I might as well make the move. I haven't had a chance to use it yet other than to open and look around, so my learning is still to come. Thank you Sepiana, I expect I will be fine, but be prepared for some questions in the future!
