When I was doing the Cookie Cutter tut, it got me to thinking: there are very few textures in the filter gallery texturizer section, and was wondering if there was a way to add more if I find some to download? I've also downloaded some cool patterns, (.pat), and wonder if those can be loaded, also. I'm using PSE 14.
I know how to load actions, styles, effects, etc, but cannot figure out the textures and patterns ones, even after doing google searches.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Wendy and welcome to PSE&M! In PE 11 you would first click the little symbol on the right: Choose the preset manager. This will allow you to add or perhaps better append the styles/patterns that you have now.
Hope this helps with your version of PE. Sepiana may have some additional info for you when she comes on later.

Hi Wendy,
By default, Element displays only a few textures when you open the Texturizer filter dialog. There are more textures stored in the Textures folder in Elements. You make them available to the Texturizer filter by clicking on the four-lined square (right of the Texture box) to load them. This is the same folder where you install third-party textures to be used by this filter. Just keep in mind that your files need to be in the same format and have the same pixel dimensions as the texture files which come with Elements. They need to be in the PSD format and 512 x 512 pixels. You don't say which OS you use. If you are on Windows, the path will be . .
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 14\Presets\Textures
NOTE: If you are on a Mac, just check the path which should pop up when you click on the Load Texture button.
Patterns (.pat) files are installed in the Patterns folder. If you are on Windows, the path is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 14\Presets\Patterns
If you are on a Mac, Helen (or other Mac user) will be able to help you.

Hi again Wendy , There is a discussion about texturizer textures in this thread. Unfortunately, there is a five-texture limit; when you load a new one, one of the others is replaced.
