I'm using pse 12
I have some PAT files that i have installed to pse via
EDIT/ DEFINE PATTERN ....
yet when I am done ... I cannot access the Patterns from the EFFECTS / STYLE / Patterns menu
am I adding them wrong ??

PAT files are accessed via the Edit menu -- Edit>Fill . . .>Pattern>Custom Pattern.

I'm aware of 3 ways to access patterns. 1) Edit \ Fill \ Pattern (As mentioned by Sepiana.) 2) Paint Bucket \ Pattern 3) Pattern Adjustment Layer (My favorite - just click to change to another pattern, pattern scale slider, editable.)  Edit: Correction to Paint Bucket Pattern (thanks Sepiana.) |

There are also two more ways: The Pattern Stamp and the Healing Brush.
Just a little clarification . . .
The Pattern setting for the Paint Bucket tool is available in Elements going back to at least version 7 (the earliest version I have).
