Thanks for the theme Sepiana. The book title is Barbed Wire in the Sunset, the WWII memoir of an Australian soldier held as a POW in Libya and Italy. Bill,
What a poignant image! We just happen to have a copy of this book (which I read a long time ago). Your image says it all! It is a perfect interpretation of this book title.

I have just started reading The silver collection, a book of short stories by Carole Matthews. HEREI went to a nearby market this morning. Silver Street runs off the High Street. I added a collection of shops in that street. whippet,
Great thinking out of the box! I really like how you interpreted this theme. It makes one stop and think while looking at your image.

I have been so busy this week, and I photographed my first event last night, then spent all morning editing the photos, but I finally had time to get this one done. I'm a BIG Stephen King fan.... this one is The Cell. I used a stained glass texture on the phone, then added some "blood smears" using a brush. wendy,
This image could be a front cover for that book. Well done!
Curious about the use of a stained glass texture.

from Spirit of Sailing by Michael Kahn Judy,
Your image really expresses what that book is all about. I wish we could see a larger version of your image so that we could appreciate it better.

Have to admit I did this backwards as we were in Niagara this week and took lots of pics including, of course, The Falls and a quick Google search turned up several books called Waterfall none of which I'd read or likely ever will as the first one I looked at wasn't quite my style but it was a beautiful day and the falls were as spectacular as ever (and not too many people obscuring the view) Tony Tony,
Going backwards paid off! I love how you captured the Falls (with them naturally framed by the foliage). Beautiful capture!

I'll have to post another one. Butterfly is another book I likely will never read but here's a pic of a Blue Morpho butterfly taken at the Niagara Conservatory. Tony Tony,
I doubt I will ever read that book either; I'd rather look at your image. Simply beautiful! The details on the wings are amazing!

(Not copying tonyw- honestly.) Papillon. Henri CharriƩre. HEREThe butterflys on the branch sit on my desk. I took the photo today. I got the barbed wire from a free clipart site. I found the book picture after I had done mine. whippet, Another really nice interpretation of this theme (and of one of my favorite books). Well done!
I wonder how your shot of the butterflies on the branch would look like without the barbed wire clip art added. I would love (and I am sure so would our members) to see what your camera saw.
