I bought a Google Nexus 9" Tablet for $480.00 in May of 2015, and yesterday it died! It only lasted 1 year 4 months. It just plain will no longer turn on.
That made me wonder what is the average life of tablets?
Now I will be in the market for a new one, but I am not going to get a Google Nexus tablet!

I have a small Wacom tablet. I can't remember when I bought it, but I'll bet it's at least 10 years ago. Still works fine.

My husband has a Samsung Galaxy tablet which we bought about 3 years ago and so far no issues with it. These days however, things are usually not build to last in this throw away consumer society.

This is very true.. nothing is built to last.... companies want people to continue buying more and more and more. so they design them to not last very long.

Inspeqtor.......have you checked the things mentioned here. That seems like a very short life for something. I hope that you are able to get it running again.

I believe my iPad 2 is at least 4 years old. I got it as a gift and can't remember which Christmas it was. It's kinda cranky now, but it still works all right.

What about getting help straight from Nexus/Google? If these troubleshooting suggestions don't work, you could contact them or even post on their forums.

My iPad2 has worked fine for many years now. However, I had a series of iPhone5 phones that were a nightmare of reliability. So I don't think any vendor is perfect.

Sepiana, THANK YOU!! The link you provided had me go thru several steps of trying different things. On (I think) the third or fourth) step I held down the power button and the volume down button for 10 seconds, and the tablet came back to life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!!
