What does Elements 12 have that Elements 7 does not ?
I stumbled on a good deal for E12 (providing someone else hasn't beat me to it)
I would like to try that "content aware" business and I think E12 has it.
Thanks for reading.

Sepiana -
I took a look at the chart in your link. One thing I'm curious about. "Easily select detailed edges like hair or fur" is listed as new for PSE 14. Any idea what they're alluding to?

Thanks, Sepiana; from what I am seeing, the only new-to-me feature that I would be gaining is the content aware tool whatever that makes it easier/quicker to eliminate unwanted objects.
I can get E12 new sealed disc-in-box for $33 delivered, but they are going fast................. decisions,..... decisions.......

Well........, my buying decision got made for me; when I just checked on it, the last one had just been sold.
They listed nine yesterday, had three left about noon today, and now all are gone.

Sorry to hear BuckSkin , I hate the feeling when I lose out on a deal! However, I did find some v14 copies for not much more: PSE v14Still no word as to whether a version 15 is going to be released soon, but you may consider taking advantage of the free 30-day trial from Adobe. If v15 is announced you can get a cheap copy of v14 and then be eligible for the free upgrade.

Assuming Adobe has not changed its policies . . .
The trial version of Elements 14 will be removed from their servers the moment Elements 15 is released; it will be replaced with the trial version for this new version.
There are restrictions in place concerning Adobe's Complimentary Upgrade -- timing of purchasing, where you got your copy of Elements from, how much you paid for it, etc.
Do I qualify for a free upgrade?

What does Elements 12 have that Elements 7 does not ? In moving from Elements 7 to Elements 10 a significant change for me was the ability to create layer masks directly rather having to "borrow" a mask from an adjustment layer and clipping it to the layer below. I believe this very useful change occurred with Elements 9 and has thankfully remained in Elements ever since.

I believe this very useful change occurred with Elements 9 and has thankfully remained in Elements ever since. Thanks for reminding me about the layer mask feature. I sort of forgot the importance of that as I also have the Elements+ plug-in which provides me with the layer mask capability. It would be nice to have it as a one-click convenience; as it now stands, I get a layer mask after three clicks, actually four clicks in all; click to open the effects palette, click the layer mask thumbnail (that I created and installed to the effects panel), click "apply", and click to close the effects palette. Of course, if I just left the effects palette always open, I could eliminate two of these clicks. I do love my Elements+, as it has provided me with numerous features and abilities.
