Hair!!

I have yet to find a program that will really do hair well. I have a photo here of an area on an image where I really need for the lady's hair to show up against a black background instead of the light background it is on now. Everytime I try doing this sort of thing the result is noticeably poor. I bought the Topaz program many years ago that was supposed to really make this easy but it didn't. Since then I see programs once in a while touting how well they solve this issue, but I hate throwing good money after bad buying programs that don't really work. Does anyone know of a tutorial that I could use for this? Or a program that does work? Thanks in advance. Pat

Thank you Sepiana for the reminder of the Refine Edge tool! Having moved to Photoshop recently it is one item I haven't gotten around to learning yet, but the second link was just what I needed for my next project!!

Yes, Sepiana, it's Topaz ReMask that I have. It's been a long time since I used it but those wispy tendrils have always given me a bad time. I thought I once saw something in Photoshop Elements 14 about hair. Thank you so much for the pointer to where it is. I am off to give it a try.

Pat, you are most welcome! Post back if your have any further questions.
BTW, I found this video. It really shows what Refine Edge in Elements 11 and above can do when faced with hair, especially flyaway hair.
