I have many photos I would like to put into a collage page. A long time ago I had a program I could select photos and have them randomly put into background shapes. Does someone remember that action? I do have Panos, but it is not random enough for me. Help

In PE 11 you can create a collage as shown in this video by Corey Barker. Perhaps this will work for you.

Are you thinking of Shape Collage? That's the one I have (the Pro version). Check their Gallery. Is this what you have in mind?
I am not sure you want to go this way but another possibility would be to use third-party collage templates.

Are you doing more than one page - a book perhaps? Shutterfly, Snapfish and the like, have premade books (with a variety of themes) where you upload your photos in the order you wish them to appear and they drop them into the books for you. You can edit the results, too. You can share these books electronically, or for a fee, you can get a printed version.
PSE has some books - use the "create" button

Sepiana, would you please be my neighbor?? I knew you would have the solution. That is exactly the program I was thinking of. You are da best. Janice: I like to present the completed photo pages, am now on page 79 of a travel album. I always used Shutterfly, but have heard criticism lately. Any thoughts of other companies.

I do not have personal experience with any site other than Shutterfly and my Shutterfly experience is 4 years ago. My Shutterfly book was a 5x7 - the size was chosen so my FIL could take it with him to the Senior Center. The quality was similar to a ready-made calendar you would purchase at the store. Others think that quality is good (for me, it was good enough for the purpose but didn't wow me)- I believe others are satisfied because with the advent of desktop publishing, our expectations have been lowered.
As far as service, it was good - then
Are you hearing negatives about quality or customer service?
I'm going to go off and check out Snapfish and Flickr - to see how their book making works and I'll report back. However, I cannot vouch for their print quality or customer service because I have no personal experience with printed matter. I do have things at both places that I share electronically, though.

Latest review of the top companies - www.toptenreviews.com/services/multimedia/best-photo-books/Although I mentioned Flickr, after going to their site, I do not believe Flickr has a book making component to their site. You can upload photos and share them electronically, but I don't see the ability to make/print a book.

I like Blurb - a bit of a learning curve but very nice product. I always seem to revert to Picassa for my collages. They are no longer around for new folks but I believe they are now google photos which I know nothing about.

Jean, I would be delighted to be your neighbor. You are very kind.
There was nothing to it. I just happen to have Shape Collage and all fell into place when you said "a program I could select photos and have them randomly put into background shapes". This was the BIG clue.
Just a little side note about Shutterfly (which you said you have always used). There have been some changes concerning Shutterfly and its integration with Elements.
Shutterfly service no longer integrated with Photoshop Elements

The suggestion of Corey's video was great. I guess I just don't explore PSE14 enough. The collage in Create is good, but Collage Maker is just what I used to have. I wandered all over Google and didn't find it. Instead of spending $100 on a photo book from a company I did not know, I did a small book from MyPublisher first. Quality seems good, and it was quite easy to use. I can wait for their sales. Jean

Jean,
Keep in mind that Corey's video doesn't go deep into the Create>Photo Collage feature in Elements. There is more to it. You can customize every aspect of the preset layouts which come with Elements -- add/remove photos, add graphics, change the background, the frame styles, etc.
