Here's a fun painting effect that gives your image a look similar to those seen on English tea cans. Just for fun I googled English Tea Cans and found these examples. This is what I came up with: Original: With Effect: Etching Added OK, let's get started. If smart objects aren't available to you just duplicate your background layer and perform edits on the background layer. This will allow you to adjust opacity as desired. I was using PE 11. Filters mentioned were found under the Enhance menu. English Tea Can Effect

Moto....when I saw your picture the first thing that came to mind was that it would make a good etching to a tin of red zinger tea!
Frank....nice idea to take this one step further and actually create a tea can!
whippet.......your image connotes a peaceful feeling.....often generated by a nice cup of tea!

I'm sorry Helen, but I am lost after applying the Find Edges filter. What is the work-around for step 5?

OK, well, I played around with my image and came up with this. I would have liked a more etched look, but not clear how that is achieved. Still, I like the effect:

Thought I'd try it on a photo of a painting (Les Carrioles by Lucien Simon) - not too sure that was a good subject for the effect but I'll post it anyway Tony

Image from Pixabay, painted on with layer Mask. I did not make the can, it's from an ad.

Tpgettys , I apologize, I just saw you post. When I followed the tut I just duplicated the layer and used the "find edges" filter on the duplicate layer, changed the blend mode to luminosity and reduced the opacity. I have two screenshots to upload for you but I am having a problem with imgbb.com right now. tonyw......you chose an image that it seems to me would look very appropriate etched on a tea tin.....I like your results a lot! ritage.....you found the perfect tin to "play" with and have created a lovely tin.
