I have been giving myself a rest. I did as sepiana suggested. I got the folder into my Downloads, ok. But, when I tried to open it - Elements opened instead. And no matter what I tried, it kept on doing the same thing. I tried to use the snipping tool, so I could post a picture. The tool opened, but as soon as I tried to snip . . . Elements opened again. And of course, Printscreen on the keyboard, doesn't work these days. I have just seen the latest posts, and downloaded the brushes from BillieJean's link. Guess what - the same thing happened. Then I thought of taking a picture with my camera. This is what is happening. I think I will just give up on the idea, it is giving me far too many grey hairs.

I am assuming you are talking about my instructions to install the .abr files in the Brushes folder within Elements.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Presets\Brushes
Now the brushes you installed in that folder are ready to be used by Elements. Don't click on the .abr file. You need to open Elements, activate the Brush tool, and bring up the Brush Library picker in the Tool Options area. The brush set(s) will be there waiting for you.

I am afraid they are not, Sepiana. Don't worry about it. I have given up.

whippet, you are not giving up. I believe in you!
I have an inkling the .abr files didn't get installed properly. Can you confirm these steps?
- You downloaded the .zip file. - You extracted the .abr files. - You navigated the path below and copied/pasted the .abr files in the Brushes folder in Elements.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Presets\Brushes
Can you go back to the Brushes folder and check? You should see this. All the brushes that come already installed in Elements and the third-party ones you installed.
If they are not there, try following this tutorial. It shows in a very detailed way how to install brushes in Elements.
