When I went searching for my west Texas sunrise I came across a birth announcement I did several years back.
The mascot for the squadron I was in was a Tiger. So when a troop who worked with me became a first time father I created this birth announcement. ((I asked and received permission to post this from the baby's dad.))
We found bed sheets that had the tigress and cubs and another set that was just tiger stripes. We ironed the sheets and hung them on the clothes line. I then photographed them. The tigress became my background. Of course our neighbours were a bit intrigued with some of my camera ideas. I've also photographed wood, ceramic tiles, walls for use as textured backgrounds.
For several years I would make these announcements for newborns in our squadron. It was a lot of fun and gained a lot of interest in our work.
