Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo this week that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. This challenge is all about getting you out there (or inside) with your camera and shooting something you perhaps wouldn't normally photograph. Have some fun experimenting!
The rules are simple.
Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. Your photo(s) should be taken during the week of the theme. You are allowed to do some photoshopping.
NOTE:
The idea behind this week’s challenge is that you get out and capture typefaces in signs, public displays, etc. It is all about public use of typeface.

Coinciding with our Creative Effects challenge, I found these examples of typography in the stained glass windows of the First Baptist Church in Keyport NJ:

Thought I'd go with a some contrasting typefaces on display around town.
The local community theatre are putting on a performance this week and have a tradition of promoting it, in chalk, on the wall of a bank across from the grocery store. Very simple, very effective (and I get to photograph the dress rehearsal tonight)
The professionals are also promoting next years shows outside the same theatre - nothing simple about those typefaces and every show has its own font! Tony

Thanks for helping us keep our photographer eyes open Sepiana. I'm on the road in Houston this week and visited the Tolerance sculpture by Juame Plensa. The wire frame statues contain letters and symbols of languages from around our world.

Helen, great finding! I really like your presentation -- in a vertical triptych way. Well done!

I really like the first one, the chalked announcement on the bank wall; I am sure it is quite effective. The second one keeps me going back to it to check the different fonts.

Bill, I have to confess something; I gasped when I saw your image. Awesome! You definitely had your photographer eyes open while in Houston.

This sign caught my attention. It uses the Coffee Tin font, one of my favorite fonts. As a side note -- The great food and cold beer also caught my attention!!!

Better late than never. This is at a tattoo parlour. Quality not good, as it was a tatty shop. But, I thought the fonts were clever.
