Wondering what this might look like in B/W......maybe a low key look? Like the shadows.....maybe try to play them up? Maybe even a square crop?

I agree with Helen. The wonderful texture of the table would come out really well in B&W. It would give it some more atmosphere I think.

I like the B&W version; I would try and get some more of the wood texture out and perhaps add more depth to the photo with a bit of dodge and burn?

I agree with Simone....love your idea for adding some of you pictures to your kitchen. Just looked at your smugmug gallery. You have some beautiful images in your Foliage and Shelburne series that would look great in B/W.........if you were open to something other than kitchen utensils. Love some your architectural shots......unless you have them displayed elsewhere in your home. Just a thought.....

Hm, the image I got from your comment was of a kitchen with bright contrasting colors, with all B&W art hung in it! I think that would be very effective and fun.
