Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo this week that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. This challenge is all about getting you out there (or inside) with your camera and shooting something you perhaps wouldn't normally photograph. Have some fun experimenting!
The rules are simple.
Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. Your photo(s) should be taken during the week of the theme. You are allowed to do some photoshopping.
NOTE:
This week’s challenge comes with a twist. The idea is to take two shots of the same scene, location, person, thing, etc. You zoom out for the first shot trying to capture most or all of your subject. You zoom in to capture something (a detail?) which you think should be spotlighted. Does it make sense? I hope so!

Thanks for the theme Sepiana. The camera I have welded to my hands these days has a fixed (35mm equivalent) lens ... so the zooming was done by foot. First of all was Zoom Care, a walk in urgent care facility. Next is Count Alexander von Svboda's sculpture, The Quest, which was carved from a single 200-ton block of white marble. Locals often refer to the statue as "Three Groins in a Fountain." (We have a quirky sense of humor out here, but apparently we're not all that good at math. ;-) )

I was hoping the weather might improve but so far it hasn't yet and the US are threatening to send us some more snow/sleet/ice pellets/rain over the next few days so I'll go with our close to home bird feeders. They are very busy places in winter but many birds are camera shy . Wide angle Mrs Cardinal is quite happy eating away but zoomed in she looks most offended. The chickadee wasn't the least bit bothered - they will eat right out of your hand and cameras don't bother them - not even a zoom lens ... Tony

The weather was wonderful today (sunny and in the 60's). After several days of hibernating, I went to a nearby lake. Many cormorants were sunning themselves while standing on a boom floating across the lake. Gulls tried to steal fish from the cormorants. Here are the zoom out and 2 zoom in photos. kdcintx,
Great display of zooming out/zooming in. I love how the cormorants seem to be marching in and out of the frame. Well done!

Bill, great interpretations of this week's theme! I love the details you spotlighted in the "zoom-in" shots (even if you had to do it on foot). A true (and dedicated) photographer!
BTW, and the quirky sense of humor? My kind of humor!!! I almost spilled my eggnog (made with cachaça) all over the keyboard.

Tony, perfect zooming-out and zooming-in shots! The expression on Mrs. Cardinal's face is one for posterity. I love it!!! Another job well done!
No snow or ice down here. Temperature in the range of 50° to 60° However, . . . no sun, overcast skies, and lots of rain. We definitely had a wet Christmas (instead of a white one).

Andy, I love the way you presented your interpretation of this week's theme -- from the zooming-in to the zooming-out. Very sharp and colorful images! I can almost feel the water drops in the second image. Well done!

Great pictures.
But the look on the chickadee's face. I can just hear him asking you what do you think you are doing.
