Have any of you tried/used Transcend Elite image backup software ?

It comes pre-loaded on any Transcend file storage product and the latest version can be downloaded free from their site.

I have not yet used any sort of program to backup files and have been thus far doing so manually; however, the task is becoming overwhelming, what with two of us using four different machines and digesting images from four cameras, not to mention an ongoing lifetime scanning task.

So, I decided to implement some sort of program to automatically do my backing up without me having to give it a second thought.

I have the AOMEI BackUpper program that is highly acclaimed and usually the top pick in any "best free backup program"
I have used it for creating and saving system images, but have not as yet used it for backing up files.

Then I happened to remember Transcend Elite was also already stored on our four 1TB ext-hrd-drives; so, I Googled it up and did a bit of research.

Although I have not as yet employed it, one feature I really like and that does not seem to be included with the AOMEI program is Real-time Backup; it will continuously monitor the folder(s) you
specify and
incrementally backup the contents
of the folder(s) whenever changes are made; and (THIS is the part I like), whenever you make any changes to a file and save over the old file, it will automatically do the same in the backup folder.

I was just wondering if any of you guys have had any experiences with Transcend Elite or also with AOMEI, or any input on whatever program you use and what you like and dislike about it.

On a poverty-level Kentucky budget, a 24-exposure roll of film would have two Christmases and a summer vacation on it and we might have to wait another six months before being able to afford developing the film.
I still have trouble remembering that it doesn't cost anything to take thousands of pictures; it just almost seems impossible to be true.

Even though Transcend Elite comes pre-loaded in every External Hard-Drive and Flash-Drive that they sell, and they sell millions of them, I could find very little useful information about it anywhere; so I decided to just install it and give it a try.

The main magnet that pulled me toward Elite is that it will synchronize files in real time, meaning as soon as you alter or add a file in the source folder, without you having lifted a finger, Elite immediately duplicates whatever you did in the destination file.

My findings:
While Transcend does what it says it will do and does it well when given medium sized tasks, such as eight or ten sub-folders and a thousand or so files, when I put it to the task of synchronizing my Pictures folder tree and contents consisting of 18,757 image files of several different formats and including a folder tree structure containing 897 sub-folders, Transcend Elite choked after doing about 10% and could go no further.
I could not convince or connive it to go any further; all subsequent fresh starts resulted in the exact same results and stopping point.

So, I went on the search for something free that could do the job.

I tried another program that I already had been using to create and manage system images, AOMEI BackUpper, available free here:

BackUpper would accomplish about 20% of the task before failing; differing from my results with Elite, no two attempts with BackUpper were identical.

Surprisingly, both of these programs went about the task sort of willy-nilly, copying a folder here and a file there, in very random order, jumping all over the place.

Either of these programs would be fine for managing a medium amount of files.

I was about to decide that finding a program that could stand up and deliver was not going to be easy, and then I found this:
