Moto, two unique images. The effect on the first image is mesmerizing. Great idea using a Hue adjustment on the second image. It made the colors "glow".

I followed Rita's tweaking. Before running the action, I duplicated the background layer and changed its blend more to Exclusion. Y Sepiana, that was my favorite, too. The Blend Mode is Exclusion. The others were Overlay and either Hard Light or Vivid Light.
My workflow, if someone wishes to try it: Duplicate original layer Flip Duplicate Layer vertically Change Blend Mode Merge the 2 layers Flatten to create Background Layer Run Action on Background
Rita
Rita, I followed your suggestion and changed the blend mode to Exclusion before running the action. Thanks for this tweaking!

Rita Rita, thanks to you and your suggestion to use the Exclusion blending mode. I owe you one!

Love the action but have a question. Several associated posts have indicated that the blending mode had been altered in several renditions thus offering a different effect. At what part of the action of the process can you alter the Blending Mode?

Thanks for reviving this thread, batterup55. I have enjoyed browsing through it again. I shall have to have another try at it.

HappyScot , sorry I came in late. You solved the problem already. Love the colors in your orb! Yes, actions are designed to run on a Background layer (which is by default locked). If a file has layers, it should be flattened before the action is run. And for users of PSE 2020, . . . I tested this action in this version. It works just fine.

I orbed and decided it would make a great frame for the original print so here are the three versions. The original image, the orb from the action and the original framed with the orb. Fun!!!!! As an aside if someone wants to direct to any of the more complex projects here that could serve as tutorials I would love that.
