Good morning everyone. I'm sorry about being late posting this. I was out of town yesterday. I found a tutorial from Rick at Essential Photoshop Elements web site that will enhance your sunrise, or even your sunset images I would think. Tutorial So as always, have fun. Here is a picture of mine I did. P.S. I don't really have to many pictures of sunrises. This I took in the Bahamas.

Didn't have any sunrises handy but figured a sunset would do . Here's a shot of the Bluewater Bridge, linking Ontario to Michigan, from the Canadian side. The sunset turned out to be not very colourful so I thought I'd see if this technique helped. Did modify the colours on the gradient map a bit and painted on the layer mask to bring some blue back into the blue water. Nice easy technique and lots of possibilities for both sunrises and sunsets Here are the Before and After Thanks for finding this one - it could be very useful as I have lots of sunsets that never got very colourful (but not many sunrises - early to bed, late to rise ...) Composite of one of my half zillion cloud shots with seascape from Pixabay. I used the colors specified in the tutorial, but it came out so garish, I toned it down a lot.

One more - I tried the Orange Yellow Orange gradient map preset and Soft Light instead of Overlay. It was another sunset - this time over Georgian Bay Tony

Took this picture tonight....changed the colors in the gradient to a yellow/pink combo. A nice and simple technique to enhance an image. Thanks for sharing this one with us, Mike!

Well done everyone. I'm glad to see you have enjoyed this tutorial. I see some amazing results.
Tony- Nice job on your 2 pictures. And yes don't be afraid to try different settings to get different looks. I'm always looking from the other side of the bridge at the sunrises.
Ritage- Yours has a dramatic look to it with the clouds you added. Good job!
BillieJean- I like how it looks like you put a vignette around your picture. It makes it look more mysterious.
Helen- That is a nice color combination you choose. It has that cold feeling to it. Like it should be this time of year.
Tom- Good job Tom. Looking at yours, I almost expect to see the Mars Rover coming into the picture any time.
You have all done a spectacular job on your pictures. Keep up the good work.

I didn't have a sunrise image either. So, I used a sunset I shot (Laguna Beach, CA). I used the Multiply blend mode instead of Overlay and reduced the opacity.

I guess I must not be an early riser because I don't seem to have a sunrise photo either. This is a sunset shot at Perdido Key, FL. I did not vary from the tutorial only changing the opacity of the gradient map. preview.ibb.co/j8EhQa/Perdido_Key_sunset.jpg
