I could really use help from the experts here. I am now receiving the message: the following images will be rendered less than 300 dpi at the current print size. I get this message no matter what I am trying to print. I just tried to print an 8 1/2 x 11 size document with only text and received this message. I have a feeling that a setting may have been changed causing this message.
I have recently replaced my printer. It is an Epson Artisan 1430. I am on Windows 10 and using Photoshop Elements 15.
I have googled this message and have not had any success in finding my problem or a solution. I went to the Epson website without any luck.
Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Lisa,
I'm not sure if I can help but I do have an Epson printer so we'll see how it goes. In my print menu under print settings you may choose Draft for fast printing; Fine - 720dpi for everyday text and image printing; and 1440 dpi for photos. Do you have those settings? Have you printed anything yet? How was the quality? To get the best quality images I need a resolution of 360ppi.

Lisa, I have encountered the same message when printing using Elements 15 (Windows 7). I just ignored it and the print came out just fine. I am not sure this is the right approach but I got this idea from this thread.

Helen, My printer settings choices are Draft, Text, Text & Image, Photo and Best Photo. For this particular document I selected text. Which I believe is 360, but it is telling me that it can't print at 300 dpi at the current print size (which is a regular letter size paper 8 1/2 x 11). It is a very strange error. And I do feel that the quality of the print is a little off, comparing the same text to something I had printed on my previous Epson Photo R1400 (which just recently died). I appreciate your trying to help me out. lisa

Sepiana, Thanks for your thoughts, and the link. Interesting that one of the comments said maybe the printer couldn't print at 300 dpi, but that is not the case with this printer, it is one step up from my prior Epson, which printed 720 dpi when I selected best photo. When I first used the printer I did not get this message, but now I get it on every single thing I print in PSE 15. I have PSE 12 and 10 on my computer, so maybe I will try printing the same document in 12 and see if I get the message. I will keep trying to find a solution. Thank you for trying to help. Lisa

I don't remember seeing this message when I first got Elements 15 but lately it has been popping up every time I try to print. I also have Elements 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 on the same computer; I don't get this message when I print using any one of these versions.

Sepiana, Looks like you and I are having the same issue, and it might be something buggy in Elements 15. I just printed the same text document in Elements 12 and did not receive the message. Wonder if one of those automatic Windows updates set something askew. I must admit, that even though the issue is still present, I feel a little better knowing that I am not the only one seeing this. Thanks again.

I get that (or a similar) message in all the versions of PSE I use when I try to print a low-res image.

I have another computer (Windows 10) with the same versions of Elements installed -- 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. I hooked up this computer to my printer and did some checking. Guess what? The same message popped up in Elements 15 but not in the other versions.

It does happen with all versions of PSE that I have installed; the only difference is that in v15 the number is 300 dpi, but in the earlier versions it is 220 dpi. Here is an example using v11 when I tried printing an image that was 1600x1600 pixels with a resolution of 200 ppi:

Lisa also reported the same situation. (The boldfaced is mine.)

One thing I know though. There have been reports of problems with the Print module in Elements 15. As a matter of fact, the 15.1 update (patch) Adobe released last November was designed to fix the print-related crash on macOS 10.12 (Sierra).

I've had this message come up since as long as I can remember, at least back to PSE12. I just ignore it and the prints look okay to me.

Now I am really curious why I don't see this message (except when I print from Elements 15). First I thought it was because I don't print low-resolution images. I have most of my printing done by our local camera shop and, when I do it at home, I always use very high-resolution images (as it is recommended). Anyway, as I said earlier, I just ignore the message and the prints look just fine.

I use high-res images almost exclusively, so it doesn't seem like that is the variable.
